The final round of the Fore The Kids Tournament is complete. With the course giving up low scores all week more of the same was expected heading into the final round. The day started off with frigid temperatures which hindered scores. When the rain and wind showed up for a few holes early in the day it was hard for players to make birdies. As the last groups moved their way into the back nine the weather changed and the scores reflected.
Heading into the final round Brandon McIver (Billings, MT) was the leader by one but was never able to get his round going finishing T7 after a one-under 71. Eventual champion Jeremy Gandon (France) had the round of the day firing a nine-under 63 with a closing 30 (-7) on the back nine. Gandon seemed to have it all going in the right direction on the last nine holes recording no bogeys to go long with five birdies and one eagle. The stretch in the middle of his second nine really put the pressure on the other competitors. Gandon made a birdie on 14, followed by an eagle on 15, and then a birdie on 16 to go four-under in three holes. Just for good measure Gandon would two-putt birdie the 18th hole to win the Fore The Kids Championship by two-shots.
