On Thursday, April 8 at approximately 6:15 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to US Hwy 377 South and FM 58. This was in reference to a loose livestock report, which turned into an accident report and investigation.
On Thursday, April 8 at approximately 7:46 a,m,, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to FM 45. This was in reference to a reckless driver report and investigation.
On Thursday, April 8 at 12:44 p.m. Deputy Carlyle James Gover made contact with a complainant by phone. This was in reference to fraud. After further investigation a report was made.
On Thursday, April 8 at 1:02 p.m. Deputy Carlyle James Gover was advised by Investigator Sgt. Carlyle Noe Gover that a wanted suspect was in the area. When confronted by deputies the suspect evaded detention, but was then apprehended. The suspect was charged with Possessing Marijuana, Evading Arrest or Detention, Possessing a Controlled Substance PG1, and possessing over 10 personal identifiers of different persons.
On Thursday, April 8 at approximately 9:40 a.m. Deputy Scotty Burke met with the complainant at the LEC. This was in reference to a trespass warning being issued.
On Thursday, April 8, at 4:26 p.m. Corporal Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to CR 215 in Brownwood. This was in regards to a burglary. Upon arrival, Bastardo spoke with an individual advised an unknown person had broken into his neighbor’s storage unit. After further investigation an information report was taken.
On Friday, April 9, Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to CR 135. This was in reference to a Disorderly Conduct. Dispatch advised they had received multiple calls of an intoxicated male subject, who had assaulted several people at the residence. After further investigation an individual was placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon and Terroristic Threat. A report was made.
On Friday, April 9, 2021, at about 9:13 a.m. Deputy Marvin Simpson was responding to Pitts Lane. This was in regards to an unwanted subject. An unwanted subject was identified by the caller as an individual who was wanted out of Brownwood Police Department. Deputy Simpson located the individual in the block of Pitts Lane. Deputy Simpson placed the individual into custody for the warrant. While performing a search of the individual. a used hypothermic syringe was located on the individual. The residue in the syringe tested positive for methamphetamine. The individual was taken to the Brown County Jail for State Jail Felony Possession of Controlled Substance PG1 <1G and for the outstanding warrant. A report was made.
On Friday, April 9, Deputy Andre Smoot responded to a dispute in the Sandy Beach area. Smoot discovered a suspect had rammed a gate and was on property not belonging to her. Criminal trespass warnings were issued to the suspect and reports were completed for those and Criminal Mischief for the gate.
On Friday, April 9, Deputy Toby Mathis, initiated a traffic stop on a red passenger car on HWY 279. The driver failed to stop and continued to drive despite the emergency lights and siren being on. The driver finally came to stop. She indicated she knew Mathis was attempting to stop her when she saw Mathis turn around on her, even before activating my emergency lights, but did not stop. The driver was taken into custody for Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officer.
On Saturday, April 10, Deputy Andre Smoot responded to a theft of gasoline call. Upon arrival, Smoot spoke with the Fire Chief and gathered pertinent information to complete a report.
On Saturday, April 10, Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to CR 606. This was for a report of disorderly conduct. An individual reported a suspect was causing issues with her family. Deputies arrived and found no disorderly conduct was occurring, but the individual claimed the suspect had threatened her. Information was gathered and a report was made.
On Saturday, April 10, Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood contacted the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. This was in regard to a subject who arrived at the emergency room with a reported accidental gunshot wound. Deputy Mike Sheedy responded to the emergency room and took information for a report. The investigation continued with a follow up at the scene in the FM 2273. An information report was generated.
On Saturday, April 10, at approximately 5:48 p.m., Deputy Nicolas A Wood, was notified of a Criminal Mischief offense, which occurred between 2:49 a.m. April 9 and 5:48 p.m. on April 10. An investigation was conducted and a report was made.
On Sunday, April 11, Deputy Toby Mathis while responding to another call, Mathis observed a black Ford Mustang strike the curb in the 600-700 block of W. Commerce several times. Mathis contacted the driver in the Taco Bell parking lot. The driver was placed in custody for Driving While Intoxicated after a DWI investigation.
