Deborah (Debbie) Castner died in her home in Crowley, TX after a lengthy battle with cancer. Debbie was born in Brownwood on July 4, 1950. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1968. She had a lengthy career in nursing receiving her LVN in 1976 from Brownwood School of Vocational Nursing and her RN in 1993. She worked in recovery room, nursing homes, home health, hospice, and the Federal Women Prison System in Fort Worth. She retired in 2014.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Burrows of Abilene and five granddaughters: Mia Fletcher of San Angelo, Bridget Montemayer of Brownwood, Tenlee Kelcy and Kaylee Kelcy of Early, and Bailee Kelcy of Hico. She was preceded in death by her parents William Champion and Jewel Turner and her son William Kelcy. Deborah requested her body be donatedey to medical science. No memorial service is scheduled at this time.
