The following fishing reports were provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of April 7, 2021:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
Fishing good. Water stained. 58 degrees. Lake 3.26-ft low. Largemouth bass are fair with jerk baits, bladed spinners, crankbaits, and skirted jigs in coves, shorelines, and timber in 2-10 feet.
Crappie are fair on minnows in brush piles and near bridge pilings, with some crappie caught in the creeks. White bass and hybrids are good on spoons and swimbaits in the creeks. Catfish are good on punch bait, chicken liver, and cut bait in 12-25 feet near baited areas.
LAKE CISCO
Fishing good. Water lightly stained. 59 degrees. 6.07 feet low.
Largemouth bass are good working shallow as spawn finally appears to be starting in timber and vegetation on spinners, worms, and crankbait.
Sunfish are fair to good in shallow structures and vegetation structures on nightcrawlers and cutworms.
Crappie are fair on jigs in creeks, and water covering structures.
Catfish are fair with slowing movement on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and chicken livers night and day.
LAKE COLEMAN
Fishing is fair. Water slightly stained. 64 degrees. 0.21 feet low.
Largemouth bass are great on worms, and crankbait. If you don’t get a bite in the structure within 6-10 casts, keep moving.
Crappie are good on live bait wanting structure in coves and creeks.
Hybrid striped bass are good following baitfish on rattletraps.
Catfish are good on stinkbait and cut bait.
Sunfish are good with live worms or crickets in shallow water.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
Fishing fair. Water clear. 61 degrees. 13.30 feet low.
Black bass are good staying in shallows around vegetation and timber on bass jigs and thick worms. Work points and creeks northeast and northwest with flowing water.
Crappie are fair on live minnows using the shady side of steep coves.
Catfish are good on stinkbait, live, and cut bait.
LAKE PROCTOR
Fishing good. Water lightly stained. 58 degrees. 0.51 feet low.
Largemouth bass are good on topwater, suspended jerk baits, cranks, and craws near main lake points, coves, and shorelines.
Hybrid stripers are fair with swimbaits and live bait in the main lake around 35-45 feet.
Crappie are good with minnows near creeks, timber, and brush piles.
Catfish are good on cut bait and punch bait.
