Monday, March 29, has been designated as the National Vietnam War Veterans Day, marking the day U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, disestablished on March 29, 1973. In honor of the day, a ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at the Central Texas Veteran’s Memorial, across the street from Hendrick Medical Center-Brownwood.
“We will have a ceremony to honor the 11 Brown County servicemen who lost their lives in Vietnam. We will have a short ceremony and everybody is welcome to come out,” said Colonel Tom Gray, speaker for the ceremony.
National Vietnam War Veterans Day is observed every year on March 29 and is a way to thank and honor our nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.
