GLEN ROSE – In their final event before the 36-hole District 6-4A golf tournament begins March 29, the Brownwood Lions posted a season-low composite score of 316 to win the Glen Rose Invitational Tuesday.
Sir Jones finished first individually with a round of 74, Slayde Espinoza came in tied for seventh with a 78, John Monson carded an 80, Hudson Reagan logged an 84, and Ian Harris turned in an 89.
The Lions coasted to a nine-shot victory over runner-up Stephenville (325), while the rest of the field included Nolan Catholic (328), Abilene (332), Gatesville (337), Mansfield (337), Glen Rose (350), Graham (350), Southwest Christian (367), Stephenville II (396), Nolan Catholic II (414), and Glen Rose II (421).
Brownwood will compete at the district tournament in Glen Rose next Monday, and play the final 18 holes at Gatesville on April 5.
