Fern Kincaid

Fern Kincaid, age 89, of Novice, died Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Coleman County Medical Center.

The family will host a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2021 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. A graveside funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Midway Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

She was born Ila Fern Cummings on December 14, 1931 in Crews to James Howard Cummings and Thelma Greer Cummings. Fern grew up in Crews until relocating to Novice with her family. She graduated from Novice High School. Fern married Ralph Kincaid on December 22, 1951 in Coleman. She was a dietician and worked many years at Holiday Hill Nursing Home, Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Abilene, and Coleman County Medical Center. Fern enjoyed her family, loved all animals, and loved flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Novice United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Coleman Chapter Number 360.

Fern is preceded in death by her parents, James Howard and Thelma Cummings; her husband, Ralph Kincaid; her son, Ronald Dean Kincaid; her brother, James Melton Cummings; and her sisters, Bobby Louise Cummings, Avos Kincaid, Wanda Jean Cummings Mason, Marian Dawn Cummings Williams, and Cheryl Lorraine Cummings Norris.

She is survived by her son, Mark Kincaid of North Richland Hills; her grandchildren, Brittney Bryson of Burleson and Verick Kincaid of Burleson; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Bryson and Abraham Bryson; and her sisters, Patsy Keel and husband Ottis of Joshua and Joyce Keel of Keithville, Louisiana.
