Paz Escobar-Alvarez passed away peacefully at his home in the presence of his family and loved ones on March 16, 2021.
Paz was born on January 24, 1931 in El Tepeyac, Mexico. He spent most of his years in Comanche, Texas. Paz met the love his life, Maria Romero, while growing up on the ranch in a small Mexican town. They later married in July of 1950. Paz was a loyal and dedicated dairyman working for various dairies in Comanche County. His latter years were spent working for Gore’s Dairy, Inc. After retiring, he spent his days taking care of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paz will be remembered for his infectious smile, love of wrestling, sitting in his recliner and drinking his daily dose of Coca-Cola. Most importantly, his sacrificial love and his servant heart will never be forgotten.
Paz is preceded in death by his father and mother, Juan and Natalia Escobar; brothers David Escobar, Simon Escobar, Gabriel Escobar, Raul Escobar and Presiliano Escobar; sister, Anastasia Carabajal; and granddaughter, Diana Escobar.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Maria Escobar of Comanche, Texas; his brother and wife, Domingo and Elvira Escobar of Tampa Beach, Florida; his brother Zeferino Escobar of Comanche, Texas; and his sister and husband, Paula and Gumesindo Hinijosa of Danbury, Texas. He is also survived by son and wife, Ramon and Janie Escobar of Comanche, Texas; son and wife, Arturo and Avelina Escobar of Comanche, Texas; daughter and husband, Estela and Guadalupe Segura of Comanche, Texas; son and wife, Juan and Cristi Escobar of North Richland Hills, Texas; and daughter and husband, Olga and Paul Martinez of Clyde, Texas. He leaves this earthly world with 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Comanche Funeral Home, followed by family visitation until 9:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 19, 2021, in Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Father Matthew Sanka officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County.
Lunch for the family will be at Comanche Community Center following the funeral services.
