In the 25-14, 25-13, 25-17 opening loss to McMurry (12-2, 10-2), the Lady Jackets received 10 kills from Mya Ross, four from Canyon Hughes, three each from Amaya Marshall and Delaney Etzler, and one apiece from Daisy Flores and Fabianna Bennett.
Riley Brittain dished out 16 assists followed by Kaitlyn Elsten with two and Chloe Pryor with one.
Flores served three aces and Brittain contributed one.
Defensively, Pryor’s 18 digs were a team-high trailed by Brittain with 10, Flores with five, Ross and Elizabeth Benn with four apiece, Elsten with two, and Hughes, Marshall and Bennett with one each.
Ross led the way with four blocks, Hughes added a pair, and Brittain, Marshall, Etzler and Bennett were credited with one apiece.
McMurry was sparked by Tyler Richardson with 10 kills, Myranda Salcedo with 20 assists and five aces, Adile Leal with 17 digs and Megan Martinez with four blocks.
In the 25-19, 27-25, 25-19 loss in the second match, Ross again led the charge with 13 kills trailed by Etzler with eight, Bennett with six, Marshall with five, Hughes with three, and Elsten and Flores with one apiece.
Brittain distributed 22 assists, Elsten added six and Bennett and Flores chipped in one each.
Hughes and Flores both served a pair of aces.
On the defensive end, Pryor registered 15 digs followed by Brittain with 10, Flores and Hughes with nine each, Ross with eight, Elsten with five, Marshall and Benn with two apiece, and Bennett and Etzler with one each.
Ross logged HPU’s two blocks in the match.
McMurry received nine kills and three blocks from Kianni Mitchell, 19 assists from Aubrie Sibley, two aces from Martinez, Sibley and Kaylie Vasil, and 15 digs from Leal.
The Lady Jackets (3-15, 0-14) have doubleheader remaining at Hardin-Simmons on March 23 and at Mary Hardin-Baylor on March 31.
