TUSCOLA – The Bangs Dragons baseball team opened the Jim Ned tournament with a 14-11 victory over the Clyde Bulldogs Thursday morning.
Trailing 10-4 after four innings, the Dragons (5-4-1) erupted for 10 runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Bangs finished with just four hits – a double and a triple by Ethan Sanchez, who drove in four; a two-run home run by Brayton Wedeman; and an RBI single by Ethan Cortez. The Dragons also drew nine walks and Clyde committed three errors.
On the mound, Wedemen, Azreal Escobedo and Angel Arias combined to yield six earned runs on 11 hits with four strikeouts and two walks. The Bangs defense also committed three errors.
