According to information from the Brownwood Police Department, a Lake Brownwood man was still in jail on Monday, March 8, on charges related to a drug arrest.
According to the police report, on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at approximately 11:00 pm, Officer Roberto Rodriguez initiated a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Commerce on a 4-door sedan due to defective equipment.
Officer Rodriguez identified the driver as 49 year-old William Ray Carroll of Lake Brownwood. While speaking with Carroll he acknowledged having a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.
Based on that information, Officer Rodriguez conducted a search of the vehicle. While opening the driver’s side door, he observed a loose-fitting seat cover. Under the seat cover, a Ziploc bag containing a large quantity of smaller bags was located. Also, under the cover, closer to the center console, Officer Rodriguez located a Ziploc baggy which contained a large amount of substance believed to be Methamphetamine. No other substances were located.
Carroll was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail, charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. The total weight of the substance is approximately 25 grams. According to online jail records, bond was set at $125,000.
Those charged are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
