During a brief meeting Monday morning of Brown County Commissioners, they left the Brown County Burn Ban in effect, citing continued dry conditions and strong wind expected this week.
Commissioners were also told by County Emergency Management Coordinator, Darrell Johnston, that the large prescribed burn, planned at Camp Bowie, has been postponed, due to unfavorable weather conditions. Some smaller burns may take place at Camp Bowie this week as weather permits.
In other business, no action was taken on an agenda item pertaining to speed limits on county roads. It was noted that when the entire list of county roads is ready, it must be published in the local newspaper twice followed by a public hearing date yet to be set.
Commissioners approved installing private line by Brookesmith SUD by County Road 189.
Commissioners also received an update on COVID-19 and various vaccine clinics being held as was reported in the Friday COVID report from the health department.
