The Lady Lions (3-4-1) committed six errors behind pitcher Annie-Klein Allgood, who yielded five earned runs on a dozen hits with one strikeout and no walks.
Brownwood cut a 7-1 deficit after one inning to 7-5 in the top of the second, but Breckenridge (4-3) tackled on three more runs to carry a 10-5 advantage to third inning. The game calmed down from that point with Breckenridge scoring once more in the fourth inning while Brownwood added single runs in the sixth and seventh frames.
Offensively, the Lady Lions tallied just three hits but drew eight walks. Chesney Covey recorded two hits, Allgood doubled and drove in two, and Hailey Snell was credited with an RBI. Allgood and Cecilia Rodriguez both walked twice.
The Lady Lions will attempt to rebound when they compete in the Graham tournament next Thursday through Saturday.
