Lourie Twitchell Zachry, 59, of Brownwood, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021. A visitation is planned from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Heartland Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 5, 2021 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park officiated by Russell Williams.
Lourie was born December 30, 1961 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Donald and Bettie Twitchell. She attended high school at Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, Texas where she met the man she was destined to marry. Lourie married Howard Zachry in the St. Paul Methodist Church in Midland and they began a life together that blessed them with 2 daughters. Lourie’s life was all about the children. She spent her days as a homemaker and caretaker for the little ones. Lourie was a very involved mother and grandmother, she was always at the school programs, church fellowships, and loved family gatherings. Lourie had an amazing faith and was very involved in teen ministries. She loved all children, but her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She attended the Faith Baptist Church in Brownwood and loved her church family dearly. Lourie had a God given ability to encourage and strengthen people with her words. She made everyone around her feel special which impacted so many lives and she was loved by all. To know her was to love her.
Lourie is survived by her husband, Howard Zachry of Brownwood; daughters, Shawna Heard and husband Robert of Stanton & Elizabeth Hill and husband Justin of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Zachary Kidd and AJ Heard of Stanton, Braylee Hill, Alyssa Hill and Cooper Hill of Wichita Falls; sister, Donna Cecil and husband Don of Brownwood; and many family members and dear friends.
Lourie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Twitchell; sister, Barbara Kidd; and brother-in-law, Lee Kidd.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Faith Baptist Church mission fund, 2001 14th street, Brownwood TX 76801.
