Martin Suniga Sr.

Martin Suniga Sr., age 81, of Brownwood, passed away on January 27, 2021. A memorial service for Martin will be held at 12:00 P.M. at Pearl Street Church of Christ in Comanche. Private family interment will be held at a later date.

Martin was born to Gilberto Suniga and Marta (Rodriguez) Suniga in George West, Texas. He married Inversaida Vee Gonzalez Suniga on January 6, 1958 in George West and they began a life together that blessed them with 6 children. He was a minister for 45 years, and also a carpenter for over 60 years. Martin loved to meet new people and share the word of God. He went over and beyond for his family, his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Martin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Inversaida of Brownwood; children, Martin Suniga Jr. and wife Mary of Comanche, Florentino Suniga and wife Olga of Gateville, Cynthia DeLeon and husband David of Early, Louis Suniga and wife Valia of Comanche, Bobby Suniga and wife Linda of Brownwood, Annabell Carter and husband Jeff of Jourdanton; brothers, Joe Suniga, and Gilbert Suniga Jr.; sisters, Juanita Velasquez and Francis Stevens. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John and Luciano Suniga.
