Maryanne Bunn Fletcher, age 66, of Brownwood went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, surrounded in love. It’s just like Maryanne to come into this world and to go home to celebrate on the same calendar day.
Funeral Services for Maryanne will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021, at St. John’s Church with Father Michael Mobley officiating; burial will follow at the Jordan Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Maryanne was born on January 27, 1955, to William “Bill” and Mary Jo (Mitchell) Turner in El Paso, Texas. Shortly afterwards her parents moved to Brownwood where she became a lifelong resident. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1973. Maryanne worked for Boman Lumber, Weakley Watsons, Holley Chevrolet, and was a partner in the construction and operation of Spa On The Creek.
She was a contributing volunteer for many organizations through the years including, American Heart Association, Brownwood Chamber of Commerce where she was selected “Young Women of the Year” in 1993, Texas Youth Commission Council, and CASA. She was instrumental in the success of golf tournaments and car shows Holley Chevrolet sponsored as well as other community events.
Maryanne had a passion for people, particularly for people in need. She loved horses and riding. She was a devoted member of St. John’s Anglican Church of Brownwood. Maryanne was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was definitely one of a kind and greatly loved.
Maryanne is survived by her husband, Wesley Fletcher Sr.; her 2 sons, Jeremiah Wilson of Stephenville, Jacob Bunn and wife Christy of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Mia Fletcher of San Angelo, August Bunn, Oliver Bunn, and Camilla Bunn of The Woodlands; sister, Jane Turner of Santa Fe, NM; brother, Paul Turner of San Antonio; and cousins, Patrick Mitchell and wife Nancy of League City, Michael Mitchell of Huntsville, AL. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Jo Turner; and stepson, Wesley A. Fletcher Jr.
In lieu of flowers, Maryanne has asked that donations be made to the Wes Fletcher Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Brownwood Masonic Lodge (115 E. Adams Brownwood, Texas 76801).
