SALADO – Watts Jones’ goal with two minutes left in regulation kept the Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team undefeated, as it edged Lake Belton, 4-3, Thursday night in its second game at the Salado tournament.
“Absolutely incredible game,” said Lady Lions first-year head coach Alexis Mosqueda. “These girls played lights out against a great group of Lake Belton players. It was a hard battle and I’m so proud of the way my girls played. It was a great day to be a Brownwood Lady Lion!”
Molly Oliver scored twice for Brownwood (4-0) and Kennedi Johnson also added a goal for the Lady Lions.
Earlier Friday, the Lady Lions knocked off Cameron, 3-1, as Johnson scored twice and Addison Pesina added the third goal.
The Lady Lions will shoot for a 5-0 start to the season as they face Fredericksburg at 1 p.m. Friday as tournament action continues.
