The suspect in a business robbery in Brownwood has been arrested. According to information from the Brownwood Police Department, January 19 at approximately 0730 hours a subject entered a business in the 1200 block of Austin Avenue. The subject displayed a knife and robbed the clerk. The subject took money from the cash drawer and fled the scene. Officers arrived and obtained video that showed a vehicle leaving the scene and provided a description of the subject. Video evidence and still photographs were shared with other law enforcement agencies and a suspect was identified.
A warrant for arrest was obtained for Dakota Cross, 28. Information was shared with local law enforcement agencies about the warrant for Cross. At approximately 0124 on Wednesday, January 20, Cross was located by deputies at South US 377 and County Road 233. After a foot pursuit Cross was apprehended and transported to the Brown County Jail.
According to Brown County online jail records, Cross was charged with Aggravated Robbery which carries a bond of $150,000 and Evading Arrest Detention with Previous Conviction which carries a bond of $10,000. Cross was still in Brown County Jail as of late Wednesday morning.
