Wanda Sue McAnear, age 76 of Early, TX passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Brownwood. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, January 17th at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Graveside service will be 2 pm Monday, January 18th at Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Sue McAnear was born on Sunday, February 6, 1944 in Lane, Oklahoma to Frank and Elsa Delay. She married Ronnie Ray McAnear on May 4, 1962 in Midland, Texas and began a life together that blessed them with 2 daughters, Zada LaJuan and Kelley Christine. Sue raised her 2 girls and worked several jobs where she made life long friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and going gambling with her husband in Nevada and Oklahoma. Sue also enjoyed tending her garden and feeding all the neighborhood cats. A few of her favorite past times were watching spooky and mystery shows, cooking shows like Pioneer Women and drag racing with her husband Ronnie. Sue was very proud of being from Oklahoma and enjoyed visiting her sister Frances. She looked forward and enjoyed all the ladies and people from Meals on Wheels, getting to talk to them was a big part of her day. Sue was a Church of Christ member.
Sue is survived by her daughter Kelley Christine Ischy of Early; 2 grandsons, Ralph Steven Thompson of Early and Adam Patric Fleming of Corpus Christi; 3 granddaughters, Elizabeth Nichole Neves of Houston, Amber Dawn Jimenez of Corpus Christi and Ashley Nichole Fleming; 1 sister Frances Whitehead of Abilene; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ronnie; her parents, Frank and Elsa Delay; daughter Zada LaJuan Fleming; 3 sisters, Fay Roberts, Linda Kevil, Betty Witty; 3 brother-in-law, Bennie Whitehead, Jerry Roberts and Snooks Witty.
