ALVARADO – The Brownwood Lions soccer team knocked its first victory of the season to play at the Alvarado tournament Thursday, rolling past Keene, 7-0.
Tony Valenciano recorded a hat trick for the Lions, scoring three goals. Cameron Phipps chipped in a goal and an assist while Dryden Anderson contributed a goal and two assists. Adam Saucedo and Caleb Nelson also registered goals for the Lions, while Aidan Solis tallied an assist.
In goal, Elias Huerta recorded the shutout.
Later Thursday, the Lions came up on the short end of a 2-0 loss to Ferris.
Brownwood is back in tournament action at 6 p.m. Friday against Lake Worth.
