The following press release was issued Wednesday afternoon on behalf of Brown County Judge Paul Lilly:
Brown County has received the deliveries of approximately 300 COVID -19 vaccinations in the last two weeks and have been distributed to three of the nursing homes in Brown County. Additional vaccinations will be allocated for the other nursing homes in the County as they arrive. We do not have an arrival date for these at this time.
Hendrick Medical Center-Brownwood received 600 vaccines last week which were administered to medical staff and first responders in Brown County. Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 100 vaccines yesterday that are being administered to medical staff and first responders.
Brown County residents will have received a total of 1,000 COVID 19 vaccinations by the end of the day today. The group will receive their second vaccination in 28 days to reach full effectiveness. Residents are advised to monitor local news and the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department website for availability of additional vaccines as they are distributed to Brown County.
