God made this ‘SPECIAL ANGEL” then He sent her here to earth on October 18, 1955 to the home of Deward and Gladys Chesser at Mullin, Texas. It’s very hard for us here to accept and impossible to understand why He needed her back there on December 15, 2020. However, it’s very easy to understand how ‘Just knowing her” made you a better person! We struggle to comprehend how God’s plan could possibly be better than ours?
Her faith in Christ was evident in her life every day by the Godly illustration of integrity, honesty, and unconditional love for others. This fact is confirmed by the multitude of prayers, calls, cards, deeds, dollars and love the family has received this year. And for all these things our family is forever indebted to each of you!
If there is a garden there, she is now proudly working hard to make it better, because here she is a Certified Texas Master Gardener with a green thumb and a gold heart!
However, never too busy to greet each one with loving kindness like she did here as a post office rural mail carrier for 35 years!
She definitely possessed that coveted ‘spirit of a child’ that Jesus requires to enter Heaven in the 18th chapter of St. Matthew. That unique characteristic of a child does not bias race, religion, politics, portfolio, fame or fortune. They live every single day in humble faith, perfect love and absolute trust!
Deb was a living example of humanity, kindness, mercy and sympathy! She was always the last one to eat, but the first one to clean up; the first one to give and the last one to receive; the first one to compliment but the last one to criticize. She encouraged others with unlimited patience and understanding, even when she was sometimes discouraged herself!
Deb’s entire life here, her hobby, pastime, love and energy were invested in her little homestead farm in Early, Texas. She believed that every single day was Thanksgiving and lectured all others to take care of yourself and be content with what you have!
We all know that she is patiently waiting for the love of her life, Larry Ray Shields of Early, and adored children Stan Tyson and Lana; Brad and Angie Tyson; Melanie and Jody Wilder and Mandy and Heath Koenig of Weatherford; 11 grandchildren and a multitude of great friends, two brothers, Wilbur Chesser and wife Fran of Henderson, Nevada and DeWayne Chesser and wife Jo Ann of Jal, New Mexico, and numerous nieces, nephews and adopted brothers, sisters and children.
Parents Deward and Gladys Chesser preceded her to the other side.
Funeral services for Debra will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Early First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Oakview Cemetery near Mullin. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at Los Trece, Texas, 3901 Hwy 84-183 E, Early, TX 76802.
The family requests memorials be made to Salt Creek Baptist Church.
