The Lady Lions (11-8, 5-3) rallied for a five-set victory over Stephenville (24-4, 7-1) on Oct. 6 at Warren Gym, and needed a win Friday to earn a share of the 6-4A title and the district’s No. 1 seed for the playoffs.
In the loss to Stephenville, Katelyn Windham recorded 10 kills for the Lady Lions followed by Kylie Morris with seven, Olivia Fowler with six, Jaylen Savage with four, Ashlyn Storm with three and Tessa Goodwin with two.
Goodwin registered 25 assists while Caitlyn Moody contributed one.
Windham also led Brownwood with four aces trailed by Moody with three and Morris and Kassidy Wooten with one apiece.
Defensively, Moody collected 26 digs trailed by Fowler with 11, Morris with seven, Goodwin with six, Becca Church with five, Windham with three and Storm and Wooten with two each.
Storm added four blocks, Goodwin finished with three, Savage contributed a pair and Windham chipped in one.
Brownwood will begin postseason action the weekend of Oct. 29-31 against the District 5-4A third seed – either Vernon or Iowa Park. The foe, location and time for the bi-district playoff match had not been finalized Friday night.
