The Legends Junior Tour Bluebonnet Championship was held at the Brownwood Country Club Saturday and Sunday.
In the boys 15-18 division, Matthew Comegys of Plano defeated Holden Webb of Shreveport, Louisiana in a playoff with a par on the first extra hole.
Both golfers shot 7-under par totals of 137 over two rounds. Comgeys owned a 4-shot lead after a first round 65 Saturday, but Webb caught up thanks a closing round 68.
Also competing in the boys 15-18 division were a trio of Brownwood golfers – John Monson, who placed 62nd with a +16 total of 160 following rounds of 78 and 82; Hudson Reagan, who finished 64th with a +17 total of 161 following rounds of 82 and 79; and Sir Bubba Jones, who came in 65th with a +21 total of 165 after rounds of 81 and 84.
In the boys 14 and under division, Bowen Ballis of Shenandoah fired a 6-under par total of 138 with rounds of 71 and 67 to place first. Ballis was seven shots better than runner-up Rhett O’Rear of Plano, who finished at +1 after rounds of 71 and 74 for a 145 composite score.
In the girls 12-18 division, Ryann Honea of San Angelo overcame a six-stroke deficit after one round to finish first with a 1-over par total of 145, thanks to rounds of 77 and 68.
Finishing second was Sophie Biediger of Dallas with a +3 total of 147 following rounds of 76 and 71.
