EARLY – The Early Lady Horns bounced back from Saturday’s five-set home loss to Class 4A Lampasas with a five-set home triumph over Class A Lingleville Tuesday night.
“I told the girls a win is a win is a win is a win,” said Lady Horns head coach Natalie Whitewood. “It doesn’t matter if you win in three, four or five sets, but we are better than that. We will find our rhythm soon and we will be right were we need to be.”
Savannah Holt tallied eight kills to pace the offensive attack for Early followed by seven from Gwen Phillips, six from Carrigan Norris, five from Taylor Summers, four from Alexa Portillo, three from Grecia Yebra and one each from Madie Waldorf and Grace LaRue.
Summers dished out 10 assists, Portillo distributed eight, Holt notched two and Norris was credited with one.
Summers also served five aces while Waldorf and LaRue both contributed three, and Portillo tacked on one.
Defensively, LaRue logged seven digs followed by four from Norris, three each from Portillo and Waldorf, two from Summers and one by Tori Wood-Rush.
At the net, Holt and Phillips both finished with one block.
The Lady Horns (4-2) will next take the court at noon Saturday as they welcome Brady in a rematch of a four-set road victory earlier this season.
