A “Save Our Children” march will take place in Brownwood Saturday, starting at the Brown County Courthouse at 4:30p.m. The march is designed to bring awareness to child abuse locally, around the nation and throughout the world.
“We will be walking for the #SaveOurChildren movement,” said Candice Wilder, one of the organizers of the event. “We really we just want to get the word out about what’s going on in the world and let these people know they can’t have anymore of our children and to let all the abused children of all kinds know that we hear them and we will do everything in our power to make the world hear them to hopefully put an end to all this pedophilia and abuse.”
Wilder elaborated on her reasons for wanting to organize a march.
“I have three daughters so for me I’m trying to protect my children, but I want to protect everyone’s, too,” Wilder said. “I myself was sexually molested as child, and I’ve seen a lot of Save Our Children posts on Facebook. I decided that we needed to get together mainly so children that are going through this know that there are people that will stand for them and with them.”

Regarding any potential social distancing concerns for those who may want to attend, Wilder said, “For the march. if you feel you will need your mask by all means wear it. If you feel you’ll need hand sanitizer by all means bring it. If you feel you need to distance from everyone by all means please do so. But don’t let this virus stop us from standing up for the children.”
