COLEMAN – The Bangs Lady Dragons jumped out to a two sets to one advantage over the Coleman Ladykatts in Tuesday’s volleyball season opener, but were unable to hang on as head coach Cheyanne Lovelady’s squad suffered a five-set 25-21, 15-25, 25-10, 20-25, 11-15 loss.
“We had a lot of ups and downs and learned a lot of things we need to work on the next two days in practice,” Lovelady said.
Halle Lance and Maggie Morales recorded seven kills each for Bangs, while Jordyn Pitts served four aces, followed by three from Hadley King.
On defense, Skylar Hutchins finished with 32 digs.
Bangs (0-1) will host Albany at 2 p.m. Friday in its home opener and visit Junction at 1 p.m. Saturday.
