Brownwood News – Brown County Commissioners will meet at 9:00 am Monday, July 6 in the county courthouse to act on the following business:
1. Declare a Quorum and Call Meeting to Order
2. Prayer
3. Citizen Comments
(All speakers will be required to adhere to the rules of procedure, conduct and decorum adopted by the Court on August 12, 2019. Any disruptive, abusive, obscene, or disrespectful behavior will be terminated immediately.)
4. Consideration and approval of minutes of June 22nd, 2020.
5. Consideration and approval of any Treasurer’s/Auditor’s Report.
6. Consideration and approval of payment of any bills·needed.
7. Consideration and approval of all appropriate action regarding the following:
A. District Judge Stephen Ellis – Presentation, discussion and possible action regarding contracts between Brown County and Howard Payne University and any other entity and action deemed appropriate and necessary for the safe and efficient operations of the criminal courts and judicial system(s) of Brown County.
B. Dr. Lilly and Sr. Chaplain Dave Fair- Formal approval of the Brown County Chaplain Emergency Services Program; authorization for the creation of a budget line within the Office of Emergency Management; and approval and acceptance of donations to the new Brown County Chaplains Emergency Services program namely a check in the amount of $150.00 to the Chaplains Program from Forbess Insurance Agency
C. Dr. Lilly- Presentation, discussion and possible action approving salaries for new personnel/personnel changes within the County Judges Office.
D. Dr. Lilly and Commissioner Shaw – Presentation, discussion and possible action regarding adding third cleaning person so that there is one assigned to each floor of the courthouse, to be paid from COVID 19 Federal Emergency Funding and Preparation Funds allotted to the County
E. Dr. Lilly- Presentation, discussion and possible action regarding approval of proposal from C&V Horne, LLC Early Glass and Brownwood Door to provide protective glass for the deputy sheriff entryway desk/counter, to be paid for from COVID 19 Federal Emergency Funding
F. Mr. Joel Kelton, Commissioner Pct. 2 – Presentation, discussion and possible action regarding burn ban;
G. Lisa Dick, Administrator, Brownwood-Brown County Health Department-Update on COVID19 response and County health initiatives
H. Commissioner Gary Worley and County Auditor Jennifer Robinson – Presentation, discussion and possible action regarding
1) Establishment of Public Purpose of the purchase of a computer for non-employees of Brown County (Volunteers donating their services free of charge); 2) Establishment by the court of any potential limitations regarding the use of such computer equipment and software and other IT related items by the volunteers; 3) Distribution of aforementioned equipment.
