Area counties have some catching up to do to get to the state average response rate to the 2020 Census. At the midway point of 2020, 56.6% of Texans have responded to the Census. The response rate of area counties is lower than state average. As of Wednesday, July 1, the percentage of residents who have filled out the Census is as follows:
Brown County – 50.3%
Coleman County – 40.6%
Callahan County – 52.7%
Comanche County – 49.2%
Mills County – 37.2%
McCulloch County – 44.5%
San Saba County – 42.6%
Erath County – 46.5%
