Brownwood News- The Brownwood Fire department responded to a car fire around 5pm Wednesday at the Dollar General at 2000 Hwy 377 S in Brownwood. According to Fire Marshall Buddy Preston, the driver and passengers of the small car began smelling smoke while driving and pulled into the parking lot of the Dollar General. They then exited the vehicle before the hood of the car was engulfed in flames. All passengers, including young children were able to escape without injury. The cause of the fire is not yet known and remains under investigation.
