Brownwood News – Brownwood ISD Superintendent, Dr. Joe Young, has been named the Region 15 Education Service Center Superintendent of the Year. Region 15 serves more than 40 schools in West Central Texas. There are 20 regions in Texas.
“He was actually nominated by the school board then he had to go in for an interview with the Service Center committee this last week and they announced yesterday that he was our winner,” said Liesa Land, BISD Deputy Superintendent.
In a statement from the Service Center – “ESC Region 15 would like to congratulate the 2020 TASB Region 15 Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Joe Young of Brownwood ISD. We are excited about the work Dr. Young is doing with students, educators, parents, & his community. We are proud to have him represent our region.”
“I’m very humbled. There are some great superintendent’s in this region. It’s fun to talk about what we do in Brownwood because it’s a good team and they make me look good by all the things they do for kids, so this is a team award,” Young said.
Dr. Young is now eligible for the State Superintendent of the Year Award which will be given out in the Fall of 2020.
