On Thursday, May 21, 2020, Margaret Ann (Sanders) Hayes, loving wife and mother of two sons, left this earth and joined her Savior in Heaven’s glory. She was 81 years old.

Margaret was born March 13, 1939, in Maud, Oklahoma to John Henry and Marjorie (Allred) Sanders. She married the love of her life, Leonard R. “Bob” Hayes on January 30, 1956, at Jones Grove Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

Margaret was a wonderful person and touched many lives with her warm and giving nature. She worked in retail sales for many years where she gained many lifelong friends. She also maintained a beautiful home for her family.

Margaret spent the majority of her life in Odessa, Texas. She and her husband retired in Brownwood in 2004. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Her husband, Bob, passed shortly after her passing, joining her on the streets of Glory on Sunday, May 24th. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Krummel; and two brothers, Gerald and Kenneth Sanders.

She is survived her two sons, Rickey Lenn “Rick” Hayes of Brownwood, and Robert Randall “Randy” Hayes and wife Sheri of Whitney; three granddaughters, Nicole Gowan of Keller, Alisa Hayes of Brownwood, and Chelsei Vigil of Waco; four great-grandchildren, Jeremy Hauser, Hayden Hauser, Elijah Key, and Madison Vigil; and two sisters, Melba Harris of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Ramona Conklin of Morristown, Tennessee. She was also blessed with a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Brownwood, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
