Brownwood News – Coleman and Santa Anna Fire Departments responded to a structure fire on the east side of Coleman, at East Cedar and San Marcos, around 5 pm Wednesday afternoon. According to Coleman Fire Chief/Marshal Jimmy Watson, “On arrival we found a single story residential wood frame structure that was fully involved, an outbuilding fully involved and fire extending to the back yard and the adjacent property behind it threatening another structure. Units were able to, with the assistance of law enforcement, which was a huge help, able to control that fire. Law enforcement actually caught another fire on the other side of Walnut Street from embers that had traveled across and lit somebody else’s yard on fire, another impressive job by those guys. We were able to control it, contain it where it was at. It’s still under investigation at this time,”Watson said.
