Rita J. Kulbertis, age 73 of North Lake Brownwood, passed away Tuesday morning at Oakridge Manor Nursing Home in Brownwood.

She was born August 27, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Ellis and Margie Perrigan Edwards.  After receiving her GED, she attended college at San Jose Jr. College in San Jose, California and worked as a teacher’s aide for several years.  She was married to Frank Kulbertis, Jr. and they had lived at North Lake Brownwood for the past 19 years.  She loved to cook, dance and travel.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Kulbertis Jr. of North Lake Brownwood, two sons, Frank Kulbertis III of California and Gerald Kulbertis and wife Lisa of Michigan, a brother, Terry Edwards of Michigan, a sister, Freida Lachman of Georgia, four grandchildren, Adam, Ben, Lauren and Emma Kulbertis and two great-grandchildren, Ila and Isabella Kulbertis.

Her body will be cremated under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home and memorial services will be held later.
