Robert W. Davenport, Sr. of Brownwood, Texas passed away April 13, 2020.
Mr. Davenport will be in state Friday with family present from 2-5 pm at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
A long-time resident of Brownwood, he was born October 24, 1925 in Spur, Texas to W.O. and Gertrude Davenport. One of seven children, he joined the Army in WWII and served in the Phillipines, and later Korea.
He worked for many years in pipeline construction, the hardware business in Comanche and the Brownwood office of HUD.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Myrtle, three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his youngest sister, Linda Davenport of Livingston, Texas; son Robert and wife, Diana of Plano, Texas; grandson Lt. Col. R. T. Davenport and wife Elizabeth; great grandchildren Michael and Kayleigh of Kaiserslautern, Germany; many nieces, nephews and spectacular friends.
