Brownwood News -The Brownwood Police Department responded to the following calls for service in recent days.
On 3/2/2020 at 20:00 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 900 Blk. of 1st St. in reference to criminal mischief. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.
On March 7, 2020 at approximately 02:20 hours Officer Vallejo was dispatched to 1300 block of Ave K for a suspicious call. Dispatch also informed Officer Vallejo that the caller had found a bicycle that doesn’t belong to her.
On Saturday, March 7, 2020 Brownwood Police were dispatched to a south Brownwood residence in the 3500 block of 1st Street for a burglary of a vehicle report. Information was gathered and a report has been generated.

On March 7, 2020 at approximately 22:03 hours Officers with Brownwood PD initiated a traffic stop on a bicyclist around Durham St and English St. When the bicyclist did not stop a pursuit was initiated and a short time later the suspect was apprehended. The Suspect had an active warrant for Pardon and Parole. Narcotics were also located during this incident. The suspect was taken to Brown County Jail for these charges.
On 3/7/2020 at 23:00 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 2400 Blk. of Belmeade in reference to a domestic disturbance. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.
On March 8th, 2020 at approximately 00:30 hours Officers with the Brownwood Police Department responded to the 3000 block of Southside Drive in reference to an accident, possible disturbance. After an investigation both parties were separated and a report was conducted.
On 3-8-20 at approximately 00:18 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 Blk of 3rd St. During an investigation, the driver of the vehicle was determined to be intoxicated. The man was arrested for DWI 2nd Offense (Class A Misdemeanor) and was transported to the Brown County Jail.
On 3-8-20 at approximately 2008 hours, BPD Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 1800 Blk of Austin Ave. During this call, one of the drivers involved in the accident was found to be intoxicated. A man was arrested for DWI 3rd or More and was transported to the Brown County Jail.
On 3-8-20 at approximately 21:50 hours, a BPD Officer was dispatched to 411 E Commerce St (Whataburger) in reference to a hit and run accident. A report was generated.
