Nevelyn J. (Graham) Dixon, age 79, of Brownwood went home to her Lord, Thursday January 30, 2020.
Born in Temple, TX on September 9, 1940 to the late Moore Graham and Willie Virginia (Rainwater) Graham. Her family moved to Abilene, TX in 1959. Cookie was a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter.
In 1959 she met Wayland H. Dixon. Then they were married on April 19, 1960 in Abilene, TX.
Cookie was a housewife and mother for most of her life. In 2004 she became a local business owner, then retired in 2013.
Cookie is preceded in death by her parents, Wayland Dixon and two sons Clifford L. Johnson and Lee Dixon. One brother Moore Graham Jr. of The Grove TX. One sister, Glenda I. (Graham) Pierce and brother in law Claude R. Pierce of Waco, TX.
Cookie is survived by, one son James Dixon his wife Jackie of Melbourne Australia; their three children Lauren, Chloe and Brock. Her daughter Dee Dee Dixon Gibbs her husband Tracy Gibbs; her two children Danielle Houghton and Richard Houghton. Six children of the late Clifford Johnson, Loralye Aponte, Dusti Freeby, Tara Johnson, Roxy Johnson, Michael Johnson and Nathaniel Johnson. Two children of the late Lee Dixon; Elizabeth Dixon and Gary Dixon. One sister in law Aritha Graham of Blanco, TX. One brother in law Harold Dixon of Brownwood. One sister in law and brother in law Carolyn and Riley Banta of Brownwood. Along with many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Cookie will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Cedar Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davis-Morris Funeral Home that morning from 10-11.
