Lex Franklin Vaughan passed from this life on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at 8:14 a.m. at his residence in Santa Anna, Texas at the age of 66 years.

Lex was born April 10, 1953 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Elmer Lee and Avis June Barnett Vaughan.  He graduated High School while living overseas.  On July 27, 1974, Lex married Mary Brysch in George West, Texas.  Lex served his country in the United States Navy from 1974 until 1976.  He was an oilfield offshore consultant and member of the Baptist Church.  In 2018 he moved to Santa Anna from Mississippi where he had since resided.

Lex is survived by his daughters Lynette and husband Jerry Soules of Temple, Texas, and Leslie and husband Juan Rodriguez of Wentzville, Missouri; his grandchildren Wesley Soules, Christopher Soules, Isabella Rodriguez, and Sophia Rodriguez; and his siblings Loy and husband Tim Akens of Abilene, Texas, Lance and wife Kathy Vaughan of Argyle, Texas, Ladd Vaughan of Brownwood, Texas, and LeAnna and husband Kenny Lange of Georgetown, Texas; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Lex is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Samantha Lyn Soules.
