Ricky Leon Powers, 66, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away on January 8, 2020.
Rick was born in Clovis, New Mexico on May 28, 1953. He attended school in White Deer, Texas and graduated from Pampa High School in Pampa, Texas. He was active in the Pampa High School Drama program where he performed in several One-Act plays. Rick went on to graduate from Electrical and Refrigeration Trade School in Amarillo, Texas.
Rick was well-known for his cooking talent. He worked as a cook at Tom’s Country Inn where he got his nickname, “Burner.” Rick later became a tattoo artist and owned Burner’s Piercing and Tats Too, in Brownwood, Texas.
He is preceded in death by Tom Powers of White Deer, Texas and Dwaine Mercer of Pampa, Texas.
Rick is survived by his loving wife Linda Powers and daughter Julie Gray and husband Donald, Port Lavaca, Texas; son Jimmy Collins, Pearland, Texas. Grandchildren, Brianna Collins, Alicia Villarreal and great grandchild IzzaBella Brannon.
Rick is survived by his mother, Mary Nan Mercer, Pampa, Texas, his sister Barbara Ann Thomas and husband Stephen Thomas, Pampa, Texas. His nieces and nephews Bart Thomas and wife Lesa, Zach Thomas and wife Maritzabel, Katina Taylor. Great nieces and nephews; Taylor, Ty and Trey Thomas, Brooke Lepard, Christian, Valentina and Sienna Thomas, Isaiah, Mason and Zoë Taylor.
Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, Uncle and friend. He was proud of his family and had many photos and stories to prove it. His humor and love will be cherished by all.
