A lifelong resident of Coleman County, she spent her final years living with her son and daughter-in-law near Waco surrounded with love. A woman ahead of her time, she was the proud business owner of Bobby’s Beauty Salon in Santa Anna, where she touched the lives of the community through her services as a beautician. She was a shining example of the Lord’s love and the grace of a true southern lady as an Elder with the Presbyterian Church in Santa Anna. The Benton family was blessed to welcome her as a matriarch in 1985 when she married Carl H. Benton. While she gained two sons, Jimmy Lynn and Larry Don Benton, they gained a new mother with an unending love for their families and an ever-flowing supply of homemade treats.
Bobby was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Addie Fuller, and her husband Carl Benton. She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Jim Benton and his husband Jeff Henningsen and Larry Benton and his wife Dena. She is also survived by her grandsons’ mother Lynda Young; grandsons Andrew Benton and his wife Shene, Matthew Benton and his wife Emily, Scott Benton and his wife Heather; her granddaughters, Danae Benton and Jordan Benton; great grandchildren, Bella Benton and Hayes Benton. She was proud of the many accomplishments of her grandchildren and took tremendous joy in her great-grandchildren.
It didn’t matter where she lived, Bobby touched the lives of those around her and had many friends, including her caregiver, Shanon Peltz. The family is grateful to all who supported and cared for this special lady throughout her life.
