Brownwood News – The Department of Public Safety has released additional information on a two-vehicle accident that took the life of a Dalhart, Texas man Wednesday afternoon, approximately 8 miles west of Coleman near Hords Creek Lake.
Lucas Wayne Harrison, 32, was pronounced dead on scene at 1:26 pm by Coleman County Justice of the Peace, Judge Robert J. Nash.
According to the preliminary DPS report, Harrison was driving a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria and was going East on Highway 153. A 2015 Ford Expedition had two occupants and was traveling toward the West. For an unknown reason, Harrison’s vehicle crossed the center stripe and entered the west bound lane and side swiped the Expedition. This caused Harrison’s vehicle to go into a side skid and roll an unknown number of times, partially ejecting Harrison who was not wearing a seat belt, the report states. The driver of the Expedition was able to slow down and come to rest on the shoulder of Highway 153. The occupants were not injured.
