Brownwood News – The Brownwood Police Department Offense and Incident Report was released on Friday morning, July 19, and includes the following calls for service.
On Sunday, July 14, 2019, at approximately 19:01 Hrs, officers were dispatched to a South Brownwood business in the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 377 in reference to a Citizens Dispute. Upon arrival, officers were able to locate the complainant who stated he was struck in the face by an unknown male while standing in line. Officers asked the complainant if he wished to pursue charges and he stated yes. A report was generated and completed.

On Sunday, July 14, 2019, at approximately 17:17 Hrs, an officer was dispatched to a North Brownwood residence in the 1500 block of Terrace Drive in reference to a Civil Standby. Upon arrival the officer met with the complainant who advised that she wished to get her belongings from a residence she stayed at. The officer met with the other half and was informed that they had thrown the property away. Officer informed the complainant and she wished that the officer search the residence. The officer was granted permission to search the residence for the complainant’s property and was able to locate some of the property belonging to the complainant. The complainant advised the officer that she believes the rest of her property was still inside the residence. A report was generated and completed.
On Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at approximately 15:51 hours, an officer was dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 1200 block of Vine regarding a theft that had occurred. Upon arrival an investigation and a report was completed.
On July 18, 2019, an officer was dispatched to an address on the south side of Brownwood in the 2800 block of Good Shepherd in reference to burglary of a vehicle. A report was written and investigation continues.
On July 18, 2019, an officer responded to an address in the 600 block of Avenue G on the South side of Brownwood in reference to theft of property. A report has been written and the case is pending further investigation.
On July 18, 2019, an officer was dispatched to a business on the South side of Brownwood in the 1500 block of Indian Creek Drive in reference to a company vehicle being damaged. A report has been written and investigation continues.
On 7/18/2019, at 1700 hours, officers were dispatched to the 300 Blk. of Simmons St. in reference to an assault. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.
On 7/18/2019, at 23:00 hours, Officers initiated a traffic stop in the 500 Blk. of 8th St. After further investigation during the stop, a small amount of methampetamine was located in the vehicle. Suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance PG1<1G.
