“Jesse Bennett worked hard all year through many auditions and made the Texas All State Choir for the 2nd year in a row,” stated BHS Choir Director, Jennifer Reeves. “He rehearsed and practiced for days in February preparing for the concert in San Antonio with other students all over Texas.”
Jesse was able to work with the highly esteemed conductor, Dr. Jeffrey Ames from Belmont University. “It was a nice sight during rehearsals to be on the other side watching Dr. Ames conduct other students,” noted Reeves. “I had the pleasure to have Dr. Ames as my choir director when I was in graduate school at Baylor University many years ago.”
The All-State concerts are performed every year during the TMEA convention. “There are thousands of music educators from all over Texas, the United States and the world who attend this convention,” added Reeves. “Jesse was one of only 100 other students who sang with the All-State Choir.”
