Brownwood News – The Brownwood/Brown County Health Department would like to remind our local residents that it is not too late to get an influenza vaccine. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, influenza viruses circulate year-round; most of the time flu activity peaks between December and February, but activity can last as late as May. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year. The CDC recommends that everyone age six months and over get a flu vaccine, but it is especially important for the very young, the elderly, and those who are immunocompromised.
