Byron Lane Davis

Bryon Lane Davis, 59, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at his home in Brownwood.  Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday September 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Brownwood.  Visitation with the family will be held prior to service in the Fellowship Hall.

Lane was born in Coleman, Texas on June 4, 1959 to Mack Davis and Joy Barnett Davis.  Lane was a lifelong resident of Brownwood.  He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1977.  He was on the Brownwood High Golf Team and played baseball in the Brownwood summer program.  Following high school graduation he attended Texas Tech University on a baseball scholarship.

He establish Computex of Brownwood in 1993 and in business for over 27 years.  He was a member of Brownwood Chamber of Commerce.  He was honored by Brownwood Fire Department along with the veterans in Brown County.  Being an avid golfer he was a past president of Brownwood Country Club.  Staunch supporter of the Brownwood Lions Football.

Lane married Beverly Ann Daughtry in a ceremony in Hilo, Hawaii on March 8, 1988.  They have 3 daughters; Brittany Johnson, Courtney Davis and Maya Davis.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Brownwood since 1971 and was baptized in 1973.

Lane is survived by his wife, the mother of his children Beverly Davis, daughters; Brittany Johnson and husband Tanner of Dallas, Courtney Davis and fiancée Garrett Hagood of Zephyr and Maya Davis of Ft. Worth, Mother Joy Davis of Brownwood, brothers; Glenn Davis of Brownwood, Gregg Davis and wife Wendy of Hilo Hawaii.  Grandchildren; Sheldon Pierce and Delainey Pierce of Ft. Worth, nieces; Molly Parson and Kirk of Tyler and Lillie Davis of Maui Hawaii, two step-nieces; Sally Licavoli and family of Georgetown and Jessie Wheat and family of Houston. Many other family that loved him dearly, Bill and LaVerne Daughtry and Larry Daughtry of Bryan, Texas. And a host of other family and friends that Lane touched their lives.

He was preceded in death by his father Mack Davis, Granparents Randle and Minnie Barnett, Mack and Lillie Davis.

Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
