Alfred Cadena, Sr.

Funeral services for Alfred Cadena, Sr., age 73, of Brownwood, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 7, 2018 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery.  The family will receive friends tonight from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.

Alfred passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Brownwood.

Alfred Cadena, Sr. was born on August 21, 1944 in Brownwood to Juan and Irene (Gil) Cadena.  He married Josepha “Jodie” Saiz on November 19, 1966 in Brownwood.  Alfred worked hard as a cement finisher for many years.  Alfred was a member of Milton Avenue Baptist Church.  He enjoyed attending his grandkids sporting events, watching his Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jodie Cadena of Brownwood, seven children, Alfred Cadena, Jr. and wife Blanca, Delia Cadena and Phillip Harling, Ruben Cadena, Christie Cadena and L.T. Bates, Anna King and husband Stevan and Paul Cadena and wife Staci; 16 grandchildren, Mikel Cadena, Johnathon Clifton, Joseph Cadena, R. J. Cadena, Reco Cadena, Sabrina Cadena, Cecilia Cadena, Caleb Schoen, Joseph Johnson, Sidney Cadena, Cierra Cadena, Carli Schoen, Sloan Cadena, Caiti Schoen; three great-grandchildren, Nicole Clifton, Annabeth Cadena and Ryan Cadena; his siblings, Delia Murray, Margarita Rubealcaba and husband Silve, Viginia Delarosa, Joe Cadena, Ralph Cadena and wife Barbara, Dora Cadena, Rosalinda Pizzaro and husband Romeo, Jesse Cadena and Helen and Shelby Johnson; sisters-in-law, Maria Saiz and Edna Jo Riggs Saiz.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Delores Cadena, his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Gonzaloe Villapando and a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Ventura Cadena.
