Brownwood News – The Brownwood Regional Medical Center Volunteers are pleased to announce the selection of their May 2018 Volunteer of the Month. During the June 2018 Meeting of the BRMC Volunteer’s Executive Board, BRMC Volunteer, Leona Jerden, was honored as the May 2018 BRMC Volunteer of the Month.

Leona Jerden joined the BRMC Volunteer Organization in February of 2000. She is currently the BRMC Volunteers 2018 -2019 Vice President, Membership, a position of responsibility she had served in since 2016. Leona is also the Chairperson of the BRMC Volunteers Tray Favor Committee and also volunteers at the BRMC Volunteers Information Desk located at the Front Entrance to BRMC. She is a past President of the BRMC Volunteers Organization having served in that position during the 2014 – 2015 Volunteer Year and is also a past BRMC Volunteers Parliamentarian having served in the position during the 2015 – 2016 Volunteer Year. Leona coordinated the BRMC Junior Volunteer Program from 2015 – 2017 and is an active member of BRMC’s Senior Circle Program contributing to the Program’s Monthly Craft & Chat Activities. She is always willing to volunteer her time to support the medical centers activities. Leona has over 11,900 hours of Volunteer Service at BRMC.

The Volunteer of the Month Award is awarded by the BRMC Volunteers each month during the year. Recipients of the Award receive recognition and lunch at the Executive Board Meeting held in the month following the month for which they are selected.

The BRMC Volunteers are always excited to meet area individuals who are interested in becoming a Volunteer and are actively soliciting new members. If you have an interest in volunteering a minimum of 6 to 8 hours per month, you will find BRMC Volunteering will meet your needs.
