McCrane, who is in training himself with the Arizona Cardinals, will lead the three sessions on Friday, July 13th. Session 1 starts at 8:30 a.m. and will focus on grades 3 through 5, session 2 is for 6th through 8th graders and runs from 10 to 11:30, and then the high school session will run from 11:30 to 1 pm.
Sessions are open to anyone who wants to learn more about the fundamentals of kicking, and as McCrane’s first sports love was soccer, all soccer players are welcome.
The first two session will be a general lesson and time for the kids to have fun on the field while learning the basics. The older kids session will get down to the finer points of kicking, and will include stretching, punting, follow through, and kickoffs if time allows.
Checks for campers and sponsorships are to be made payable to “Central Texas Veterans Memorial”. The camp is open to children entering 3rd grade through high school age, all attendees will receive a T-shirt to commemorate the event.
The cost of the camp is $20 per player, and the entire amount raised by this camp will be donated to the Veterans Memorial. Registration deadline is July 1st, and registration forms can be picked up at the Brownwood High School Athletic office. Interested parents can also download the PDF at the bottom of this story and send the information to the Athletic Office at the high school.
McCrane is also looking for sponsors to offset the cost of shirts for those who attend the camp. Business names and logo’s will be attached to press material and (pre-existing) company banners will be displayed at the stadium during the camp.
