Albert Louis Lykins was born on July 23, 1940, in Coleman, Texas the first child of R.M and Frances Lykins.  He stepped into the presence of His Lord Jesus on May 13, 2018. He grew up in Coleman and San Angelo eventually graduating from Early High School in 1958.  Al, as he was known,   graduated from Howard Payne University in 1963 with a Bachelors degree in music. While attending Howard Payne he met the love of his life, Louise Huggins of Bangs.  They would begin a love relationship that would last for 57 years.  Al and Louise were married on January 19, 1962.  They would have four children: Pam, Lana, Kevin and Eric.  Al’s love of music led him to teach Junior High and High School band for 27 years.  He spent 15 years at Bangs High School.  During that time, he touched the lives of many students and parents through his love for Christ and his sense of humor that endeared him to everyone.  Al   was a faithful deacon in many churches as he moved with his family through the years.  He used his talent for playing   the saxophone on a regular basis to glorify God and to encourage others in worship services.  Enduring many health problems over the last 20 years, Al constantly kept a joyful attitude and used his trials to share of the faithfulness of Christ with others.
