Gloria Ann Weatherman was born on July 29, 1942 in Glidden, Texas to Anthony and Alma Trilicek. Gloria was a long time resident of Elm Grove, Texas. Gloria passed away April 1, 2018 at Shannon Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She graduated from Uvalde High School in 1960, Southwest Texas State University in 1964, and the University of Texas San Antonio in 1984. Gloria was a life-long educator, teaching in Seguin, El Paso, Del Rio, San Antonio, and was principal in San Angelo, and Brownwood. She was involved in education from 1964 to 2000 as a teacher or principal. She loved kids and lived to make a difference in their lives and left behind a legacy of learning and love.
Gloria met her husband Jerald Weatherman while attending Southwest Texas State University in 1963, married in San Antonio in 1964, and moved to Seguin to begin the life together in 1964. The first six years of her married life she was pulled from one Air Force Base to another as Jerald was a pilot in the Air Force. Gloria lived in San Antonio for 14 years before moving to Elm Grove in 1989. She was a member of Sr. Mary’s Catholic Church and was active in church activities. After retirement in 2000 Gloria volunteered as a worker at Salvation Army in Brownwood. She was a active member and ardent supporter of Texas Retired Teachers association.
She is survived by her husband Jerald Weatherman of Elm Grove, son Jerald Weatherman Jr and wife Pam of Crawford, daughter Monica Edmondson and husband Scott of Elm Grove, grandsons Matthew, Jonathan, and Stephen Weatherman of Crawford, and granddaughters Laurel and Melia Edmondson of Elm Grove. Two sisters Gladys Baker and Glennie Lecocke and brothers-in-law Jack Baker and Don Lecocke all of San Antonio. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Gloria loved gardening, traveling and having her family around her as often as possible. She would go to the end of the world to make children or her grandchildren happy and pleased. Sunday dinners were a favorite of hers when the family could be together.
Though she is gone, GOD chose a very special day of Easter to take her home to be with him. She will be missed.
Gloria’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 7th at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Brownwood, and 2:00 pm Saturday, April 7th at the Mercury Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Cox Cemetery in McCulloch County. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday at funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to Food For the Poor in Gloria’s name.
